Among Larry Weiss' solo songwriting efforts was the 1974 hit, "Rhinestone Cowboy". Scott English teamed with Richard Kerr to write Barry Manilow's 1974 hit, "Mandy". Scott English and Larry Weiss wrote the tune as well as other tunes including the 1968 hit, "Bend Me, Shape Me" by American Breed. The Cleveland band The Outsiders released a version around the same time that only made it to Number 37 on the US charts.
